[This isn't a conversation he wants to have, but he's not sure when else it'll occur, so - he takes the coward's way out and sends her a call / voicemail:]
So, uh... when exactly were you going to tell me Klaus exiled your Tyler?
[...She doesn't respond right away, just sitting there and staring at the phone before she finally sends an audio reply.]
Maybe when I've had enough time to deal with everything that's going on? There's a lot of stuff you don't know, and dumping it on you didn't seem fair.
[That's an understandable answer. Tyler's not fond of it, but he at least gets why she wouldn't have gone that route - especially since hybrids never existed in his world.]
I heard enough. [He sounds a little disgusted, so he clarifies--] Care, I - it's not exactly you. It's everything else I was listening to, and just how crazy different y'all's experiences were.
[He thinks about it for a few seconds. While he hasn't explored the area thoroughly, he does have access to one of those cute coupon books - so he flips through it, trying to find a quiet place.] There's a coffee place not too far from the hotel. I could meet you there in fifteen?
[Every month or so, the Fleet stops along various planets - and this one is no exception to the rule. Although it's a small one, with bustling crowds that seem to ooh and aah the members of the Fleet, it resembles Europe's narrow, cobblestoned streets.
At the end of one of these streets is a small waffles and coffee stand, delivering freshly-baked waffles and fancy variations of coffee - and of course, no black tea. Stefan's more than used to that by now, which is why he orders a plain waffle. Turning back to Caroline, he gestures towards the menu.]
See anything you like? It'll be on me.
[Since he's been on the Fleet longer, he's also got the money to pay for this and then some.]
[ The whole situation had taken some adjusting to, not including the fact that Stefan had a whole separate set of memories on top of the stuff they both remembered, which was weird. The stop though had been a distraction from that and she'd been kind of staring blankly at the sign before his voice jerked her back to reality.]
[He orders a coffee, exactly how he remembers Caroline liking it, and then caves and buys himself a latte too. Once everything's ready, he hands it over to her.] As far as planets go, this one's pretty peaceful. No bar fights, or sick locals... just a lot of waffles.
Waffles are good. [To be fair, bar fights are actually on the good side of peaceful for her, all things considered and she takes the coffee, wrapping her hands around the cup. ]
Makes sense. It's just a bit of an adjustment. [The fangirl comment though almost has her twitching because her first thought was how Damon would react.]
[Sometime over the course of the summer, Freya Mikaelson arrives on the steps of the Salvatore School. What's she doing there? No one seems to know. But she's recognizing at this point that there are gaps in her memory. Things missing that are not where they should be.
Why is she looking into the Gemini coven? Why are her brothers dead? Why does she have pictures of a girl from the Salvatore School?
As she wanders her way up to the front door, she can feel the wards and they are not necessarily happy to see her. While she does walk up to nudge the door open, and nothing happens, she's not going to test the threshold further than that. Instead, she calls inside, trying to get someone's attention.]
[Freya Mikaelson was the last person she'd expected to see at their door, at least at the moment, anyway, Caroline's footsteps pausing just shy of the door, gaze fixing on the witch.]
...Which for your family means she's probably related to you somehow. But I don't recognize her, Freya. Although that is our uniform. And it wouldn't be the first time something weird happened around here. [Caroline pauses, sends a quick text.]
Josie might know her. She'll be here in a few minutes.
after book club

Re: after book club
Maybe when I've had enough time to deal with everything that's going on? There's a lot of stuff you don't know, and dumping it on you didn't seem fair.
[And then a long pause.]
...You didn't hear anything else, did you?

And there's worse than Tyler having to leave town, but not exactly something to discuss over the phone.
Maybe we can meet up somewhere? [Because being alone with Tyler is such a good idea. ]

[Dangit, his voice sounded way too hopeful and he knows it - but it's also too late to try and clarify that kind of thing.]

Re: action!
So you've been here before?
action!
[He shrugs, taking a sip of his latte as he looks around.]
I don't know if we're actually on TV, but if we are... then it's their weird way of protecting us from would-be fangirls.
Re: action!
Your brother would thrive on fangirls.

Professor Saltzman? I would love to have a word.
